In the aftermath of the highly publicized defamation trial with her ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has found solace and a new beginning in Spain.
The actress, known for her role in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” relocated to Madrid months after the trial concluded with a verdict on June 1st, 2022.
In a brief video that circulated on TikTok, Heard was seen engaging with local reporters on the sidewalk. Speaking in Spanish, she expressed her love for Spain, stating, “I love Spain so much.”
When asked if she planned to stay, she replied, “Yes, I hope so. Yes, I love living here.” Bidding farewell to the people filming, Heard added, “I hope you are well. Ciao, and thank you. Nice to meet you.”
Heard also confirmed that she has movie projects on the horizon, emphasizing her desire to move forward in life. A source close to Heard revealed that she was eager to leave the US with her daughter after the trial.
“The trial was beyond stressful for her, and she just wanted to start fresh out of the country,” the source said.
In December, Heard announced that she and Depp had reached a settlement and dropped their appeals to the Virginia verdict.
In a statement, she reflected on her experience, stating, “It’s important for me to say that I never chose this. I defended my truth, and in doing so, my life as I knew it was destroyed.”
She continued, “Now I finally have an opportunity to emancipate myself from something I attempted to leave over 6 years ago, and on terms I can agree to.”
Heard made it clear that she had made no admission of guilt and that there were no restrictions or gags with respect to her voice moving forward.
Meanwhile, Depp, 59, received a warm reception at the Cannes Film Festival for his French-language film “Jean duberry,” signing autographs and walking the red carpet before the film received a standing ovation after its screening.
As Heard embarks on this new chapter in her life and career, she seems determined to leave the past behind and focus on the future, embracing her new home in Spain and the opportunities that lie ahead.
